Boiled Rice


Easy to digest boiled rice are my favorite choice for a light meal. You will say it is very simple to make. I agree but sometimes they get soggy and don't cook with every grain being separate. 

So today I will share with you my recipe of boiled rice and how to get it's grain separated from each other. 


We Need

  • 1 Cup Basmati Rice

  • 4 times water

  • 1 Tsp lemon juice

  • Salt ( optional) 


Here We go:


  1. Wash rice four to five times in water. While washing rice don't rub them as it will break the grain and you will not get long grains. Soak them in water for half an hour. 

  2. Take a large pan and fill 4 cups water in it. Place it on flame. Add salt if you wish to make salted rice. Put it on high flame and let the water boil. 

  3. When the water starts boiling add soaked and drained rice to it. Turn the flame to Low. Let the rice boil on low flame till done.

  4.  It will take 15 to 20 minutes to get perfect rice. Keep on checking and stirring it in between. When done take them out in a sieve and drain extra water. 

  5. Your long grained rice are ready to serve. Serve it with Peeli Dal Tadka , rajmah, chane or make fried rice with it. 


Tips:

Always cook rice on low flame. 

Never rub rice while washing. This breaks the grain of rice. 

Take a rice grain and press in between your thumb and forfinger and if it mashes completely, it is done. There should be no hard part.
