Garlic Bread without yeast


The key flavour of this bread is of garlic which makes it everyone' s first choice . In my home it is finished as soon as it is out of the oven. My daughter asks for it every second day. I made it for her birthday and thought of sharing the recipe with all of you. The flavour of herbs and garlic blend very well together and make it irresistible. 

We Need

For Bread

  • 250 gm All purpose flour

  • 2 Tbsp Sour Curd

  • 1 Tsp Sugar

  • 2 Tbsp Oil / butter. 

  • 1 Tsp Pizza Seasoning

  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder

  • ¼ Tsp Baking Soda

  • ½ cup warm milk. 

  • Salt to taste

For Garlic Butter

  • 2 Tbsp salted Butter

  • 1 Tbsp Pizza Seasoning/ mixed herbs

  • 2 Tsp Chilli flakes

  • 10 pods of fresh Garlic

  • 100 gm Mozzarella cheese

  • 2 Tbsp boiled corn

Please Note : This measurement makes two Garlic breads

Here We Go

  1. Take a large bowl and add flour, sugar, oil, pizza seasoning, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Now add sour curd and knead the dough by adding a little quantity of milk. When the dough comes together knead it with your palms till soft and done. 

  2. Apply a little oil on the full surface of the kneaded dough. Cover it with a cloth and let it rest for 1 hour. 

  3. Meanwhile keep the butter out of fridge to bring it to room temperature. Crush garlic pods in mortel and pestle. To the softened butter, add crushed garlic , pizza seasoning or mixed herbs and chilli flakes and mix it thoroughly. 

  4. Meanwhile grate mozzarella cheese and set aside. 

  5. Boil corn in microwave for 4 min. Set aside. 

  6. After the dough has rested, take it out of the bowl and knead it for a while. Take half the dough and make a ball. Sprinkle some all-purpose flour on it and roll it into a round shape. It should not be too thin or too thick, Just like paratha . Approximately it should be around 8 inches in diameter. 

  7. Paste garlic butter on it . But leave the edges as it will prevent sealing of the dough. 

  8. On half side, spread grated Mozzarella cheese and boiled sweet corn. 

  9. Dip your index finger in water and rub your finger along the circumference of the circle. The purpose is to make the corners moist so that they seal well. 

  10. Fold the circle into half, making a semicircle. It should be a perfect overlap. 

  11. Take a fork and press it gently on the corners of the semi circle so that it is sealed well. Make light cuts on the top layer with the blunt side of the knife, but don't cut through the bottom layer .The cuts should only be on the top layer. 

  12. Grease a tray and keep the unbaked bread on it. Paste the remaining butter generously on the top layer. Sprinkle some chilli flakes also. 

  13. Preheat the oven on 200 degrees for 10 min. Now bake the bread for 15 to 20 min on 180 degree celsius depending on your oven. You can alternatively bake it on gas by preheating a pan for 10 minutes and keeping the bread inside it. 

  14. Your Garlic bread is ready. Serve it hot Or at room temperature, it tastes heavenly. It is everyone's hot favorite. 

Tips: 
Keep the dough loose to get a soft bread. If required add 2 to 3 spoons of water while kneading to make it soft. 
Seal the edges properly so that the cheese doesn't ooze out. 
Be Lavish with Butter and Garlic The more the tastier.
